bagni fiume
Ardenza - Livorno

This small beach takes its name from the adjacent bathing establishment, Bagni Fiume.

The best wave conditions occur with a diminishing west-northwest and south-west swell. The site does not stand up to stormy conditions, but there can be good waves even when the sea is not very rough in nearby sites.

Being near the town, this spot is frequented throughout the year.

The technical level of surfers is high, leaving little room for beginners since the sea produces a powerful crest and a rather hollow right wave, difficult but not very long.

type of sport: surfing

level of difficulty: intermediate

facilities: restaurants, bar, roadside parking.

how to get there:

from the north: Leave the A12 motorway (Genova-Rosignano) at the Livorno exit. Take the bypass, and leave this at the Livorno Sud exit. Follow signs for the sea, then turn left at Barriera Margherita, near the Accademia Navale, and head south for about 1 km. Bagni Fiume is on the right.

from the south: Approach on the SS1 Aurelia road and at the end of the Romito panoramic road follow the coast road through Antignano. Continue along the coast for about 4 km and look for Bagni Fiume on the left
