In October the warm temperatures, the shades of green and bright red typical of this season characterise Sassetta,
the setting for the Festival of Autumn.
On the last three Sundays of October the historical centre of Sassetta,
an ancient village above the hills, awakes for a series of initiatives dedicated to the local cuisine with a special reference to the traditional dishes of Sassetta.
Not to be missed the "polentata", the soup and the chestnut festivals. Atmospheric shows of folklore like the historical parade,
displays by flag-wavers and the Palio of donkeys enrich the festival. Deep in quiet chestnut woods Sassetta is an ideal destination for walks and trekking.
