i due canyon b
Calafuria - Livorno
This is a beautiful dive, also useful for the purposes of teaching navigation using diving instruments. The flora and fauna are typical of the area, including some stunning "branches" of red gorgonian (paramuricea clavata), yellow gorgonian and the leptogorgia genus. Keep your eye on the sea as well to get a look at a few migratory fish. Keep an eye on instrument readings (air/time). The depths reached mean that you can quickly get to decompression limits.
route:
Leave the shore from the corner of the bridge (tower side) setting the route for 200°. Once out of the gulf, the sea bed changes from cobbles and rocks to a lovely field of Mediterranean tapeweed. After swimming for about 10 minutes at a depth of between 17 and 22 metres, you will come to the edge of the slope. Continue to descend to 28 metres and head for the left-hand slope. The canyon is found on a sandy floor at about 30 metres, which descends by a further five metres. Leaving the slope on your right, take the route back to the shore as for the "210 dive".
