il ciglio di terra
Secche di vada
This is a beautiful dive, consisting of a wall situated at about four miles from the coast in the middle of the Vada sandbanks. It has a wealth of coral, red gorgonians and lobster. A crevice known as "la buca della superlocca" adds to the enchanting scenery and is another attractive feature of this dive. Monkfish, various other fish species, and nudibranchs are always visible. The numerous dives available in this area make it advisable to combine this with another dive on a full-day excursion. Keep an eye on instrument readings (air/time).
The depths reached mean that you can quickly get to decompression limits. The dive can be demanding with reduced visibility. It is of fundamental importance to relocate the anchor in order to avoid an ascent of about 30 metres with no references.
route:
diving centre or boat guides will decide the best route, depending on the wind and the current. Under normal conditions, the boat anchors near the drop-off and divers descend along the anchor rope or the fixed buoy. At a depth of 29 metres there are some blocks of concrete and the wall begins a few metres towards land. At a maximum recommended depth of 35 metres, follow the wall, keeping it on your left until you have used up half your air supply. Then turn and, ascending a few metres, follow the same route back to the starting point.
