le gorette
Cecina mare
The beach and the sea bed here are sandy with sporadic stretches of rock. During the summer period, in good weather conditions, there are good chances of a hot wind blowing with uniform velocity and duration. In low pressure conditions, the sirocco enters the small gulf, the only wind to arrive from the left; the libeccio and ponente/mistral winds arrive from the right; the former is onshore, while the mistral is nearly sideshore.
During the winter windsurfing is only possible when the sea is stormy. Conditions are the same as those during the summer. The offshore winds (tramontana – grecale - levante) are not suitable for going out to Le Gorette: the pinewood behind you means the wind is only felt out at sea, and continually changes direction and intensity.
